About me

NINI LUSTIG

There was a time at the University of Illinois when I dabbled in graphic design as a Fine and Applied Arts major. But when a friend convinced me to try the College of Communications, I graduated with a B.S. in Advertising instead and later completed a Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications at Northwestern.

I spent thirty years on the corporate and non-profit side of design, working with talented creatives from dozens of agencies and graphic designers from large and small firms. All the while, I worked alongside them "art directing" until 2020, when my employer's marketing budget was eliminated and a challenging new era of do-it-yourself design began. Now, as their marketing consultant, I do the History Center's exhibit and print design work remotely. Using an intuitive software program, I've learned to design everything from brochures, ads and annual reports--to exhibit signage, event invitations and social media campaigns.

Of course, I still have my integrated marketing communications cap on while I'm sitting in the designer's chair (it comes in very handy)--but mainly, I'm having a blast exploring this lost love of mine. Collaborating with people to help bring their vision to life is gratifying and just my cup of tea!

I'm also wired for meeting deadlines, having good client communication and staying on brand.

I am passionate about all aspects of graphic design and love seeing a project through, from concept development to final product.

I can work from anywhere and love staying busy and connected!
